Orian Ventures began as a single entity in 2012, providing contemporary interior and hospitality solutions of global standards to both local and international clients. Since then, our company’s success has led to its growth and expansion, giving rise to three additional business verticals in the interior décor, education, and food sectors; under the following names:
- The Elite Studio – A one-stop-shop for all your soft furnishing and interior décor needs.
- Jolly Jumbles – A ‘one of a kind’ kids activity centre that focuses on the holistic development of children during their primitive stage of 3 months to 6 years.
- The Gourmet Cuisine – An off-premise catering company that serves palatable meals for corporate events and special occasions, which was later re-launched as a cloud kitchen based premium dessert shop, selling Sri Lanka’s finest premium cakes and desserts.

Acacia Fabrics is a leading distributor of premium quality Belgian fabrics across Southeast Asia. Every year, they hold a dealer convention and awards ceremony, where all the dealers who sell their fabrics are recognized for their hard work and dedication to Acacia’s mission.
There, Orian Ventures was honoured with the silver award for ‘Dealer of the Year’ in 2017; and later proudly took home the gold award for the same title the following year in 2018.
This was a delightful experience for our company and the recognition was very motivational — a great milestone, not only in our relationship with Acacia but also in the growth of our company.
Leadership
Sajjaad Shakeer
Sajjaad, the founder and Managing Director of Orian Ventures is a diligent leader and a great team player with an entrepreneurial drive. He became a certified Chartered Marketer at a very young age and later completed his Master’s in Business Administration with a first-class honours at the university of the West of England.
After having served in the hotel supplies industry for several years during the early days of his corporate career in Oman, he decided to explore the local market at a time when Sri Lanka’s tourism industry was flourishing.
His journey began as a luxury linen supplier specializing in the bed, bath, and banquet sectors of the hospitality industry; a business that flourished overtime. His entrepreneurial spirit further enabled the business to diversify into complementing verticals in Sri Lanka, successfully launching into the hospitality, interior décor, education, and the food & beverage sectors.
Sajjaad’s mantra has always centered around providing his clients with the highest quality products alongside exceptional customer service to always exceed his clients’ expectations. This has consistently resulted in positive feedback from happy customers which continues to be his motivation.
Shafraz Shakeer
Shafraz, the Director of Operations for The Elite Studio, is a dreamer, innovative marketer and an outside-the-box thinker with over 18+ years of experience across the advertising, communications, and events space.
Being a chartered HR professional with an MBA from the University of Coventry; gave him the opportunity to work with many companies and organizations in the UAE and the UK. During this time, he had developed a variety of beneficial skills and life-strategies such as strategic decision making, budgeting, forecasting, and goal setting, among many others —which could be applied to almost any business.
His enthusiasm for the marketing landscapes along with his flair for developing business partnerships that complement one another; not to mention his knack for target marketing, re-target marketing and analyzing numbers, have always proven himself to be a valuable asset in all his endeavours.
Using all these powerful skills, he is now overseeing marketing and operations at The Elite Studio with an enthusiastic and driven team — his ultimate goal being to push the boundaries, experiment with new ideas, and provide the best products and customer service to his clients.
Hasna Rizwan
Hasna, the Directress and owner of Jolly Jumbles, is a dedicated and experienced early childhood educator with a passion for educating today’s kids and youngsters. Through hard work and dedication, she quickly mastered her craft with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and a Master of Education from the Asia e University.
Her impressive qualifications led her to obtaining years of experience in teaching children from multiple schools based in Oman and Sri Lanka. Some of these experiences involved planning classroom activities, creating a safe and active learning environment, monitoring children’s social and emotional development, and resolving conflicts and difficulties as needed — all of which contributed to her strengths and the development of a powerful skillset.
She has now established her own research-based children’s activity centre called Jolly Jumbles, which she runs as Directress — her ultimate goal being to enhance the holistic development of little minds and nurture lives, one child at a time.
