Orian Ventures, which was once a dream to the founder and managing director (Sajjaad Shakeer), had quickly become a successful and fast-growing reality since its inception in 2012.

Like most businesses, Orian Ventures braved through humble beginnings by starting off as a provider of contemporary hotel supplies and premium luxury linen; for the bed, bath, and banquet sectors of the hospitality industry. As the business picked up speed, new products were introduced, which not only expanded our product portfolio, but also propelled our business to new heights.

In the midst of continually striving and working hard towards providing our clients with exceptional timely services, we recognized a gap in the retail market for customized interior curtaining and furnishing. This was when Orian Ventures diversified into its first business vertical under the name – The Elite Studio, a one-stop-shop solution for all your soft furnishing and interior décor needs.

With Orian Ventures continuing to gain ground, we also identified an opportunity in the food sector through our partnerships in the hospitality industry and tapped into it as Orian foods — supplying quality organically sourced food items to some of Sri Lanka’s finest restaurants. This peaked our interest to further venture into the catering business, and thus began our next business vertical – The Gourmet Cuisine, an off-premise catering company that serves palatable meals for corporate events and special occasions. This vertical was later re-launched as a cloud kitchen based premium dessert shop, selling Sri Lanka’s finest premium cakes and desserts.

Overtime, our passion for creating value in all that we pursue, led us to making a strategic investment in the field of education — launching our third business vertical – Jolly Jumbles, a ‘one of a kind’ kids activity centre that focuses on the holistic development of children during their primitive stage of 3 months to 6 years.

All in all, Orian Ventures continues to be a fulfilling and rewarding journey of servicing our clients with integrity, dedication, and teamwork — as well as allowing us to give back to the society in ways that we’re passionate about.
